This glossary explains common terms you may see around the forum. Whether you're new to forums or just need a quick refresher, these definitions will help you navigate with confidence.
A discussion topic. Threads contain posts from one or more members talking about the same subject.
An individual message inside a thread. When you reply, you are creating a post.
A post written in response to another post or to the thread as a whole.
A feature that lets you include part of someone’s post in your reply for clarity or context.
A quick way to respond to a post using an emoji-style icon (like, love, laugh, etc.).
Your profile picture — the image that appears next to your posts.
Optional text or links that appear below your posts. (If enabled by the Administrator.)
Your personal page showing your posts, activity, and optional information you choose to share.
A notification you receive on the site when someone replies, reacts, mentions you, or updates a watched thread.
Following a thread or forum so you receive alerts or emails when new content is posted.
Tagging someone using @username so they receive an alert. Replace “username” with the person’s actual forum name — for example, to tag the Administrator, you would type @EQArchitect.
A private way to notify an Administrator/Moderator about a post that needs attention.
A post removed from public view but still visible to staff for review.
A thread that can still be read but no longer accepts new replies.
A category or section where threads on similar topics are grouped.
A smaller section inside a main forum, used to organize content more specifically.
A thread kept at the top of a forum because it contains important or frequently referenced information.
A private message between you and one or more members. Only the participants can see it. This works like a PM or DM on other platforms.
A saved version of a post you started writing but haven’t submitted yet.
