Moderation & Reporting

Moderation & Reporting

🛡️ What Moderation Is

Moderation helps keep the forum organized, respectful, and safe for everyone. Moderators and Administrators work to support healthy discussion, guide conversations, and address issues when needed.

📣 When to Report a Post

Use the Report button when something needs attention from an Administrator/Moderator. Reporting is private — the person you report does not see who reported them.

  • Harassment, personal attacks, or targeted hostility
  • Content posted in the wrong section
  • Spam or suspicious links
  • Repeated off‑topic posting that disrupts discussion
  • Privacy violations (e.g., posting someone’s personal info)
  • Anything that makes you feel unsafe or uncomfortable

📝 How to Report a Post

  1. Click the Report link under the post.
  2. Write a brief explanation of the issue.
  3. Submit the report — an Administrator/Moderator will review it.

🔍 What Happens After You Report

Once a report is submitted, an Administrator/Moderator will:

  • Review the post and the context around it
  • Decide whether action is needed
  • Leave a note in the moderation system if appropriate
  • Take steps such as moving, editing, or addressing the issue with the member

You may not always see the outcome, but every report is reviewed carefully.

🧭 What Moderators Can Do

Moderators help keep discussions running smoothly. Their tools may include:

  • Moving threads to the correct section
  • Editing posts to fix formatting or remove rule‑breaking content
  • Soft‑deleting posts when necessary
  • Locking threads that need a pause
  • Issuing reminders or guidance to help keep conversations constructive

⭐ What Senior Moderators Can Do

Senior Moderators have expanded tools and may assist with:

  • Handling escalated issues
  • Reviewing repeated or serious violations
  • Supporting other moderators

👑 What Administrators Can Do

Administrators manage the technical and structural side of the forum. They can adjust permissions, manage user groups, and handle major issues that require higher‑level decisions.

🧩 How to Handle Disagreements

Disagreements happen — that’s normal. If a conversation becomes tense:

  • Take a moment before replying
  • Clarify your meaning if something was misunderstood
  • Ask for clarification instead of assuming intent
  • Use the Report button if the situation becomes uncomfortable

Everyone communicates differently; direct, blunt, or emotional styles are welcome. Moderation focuses on behavior, not tone.

❓ Need Help?

If you're unsure whether something should be reported or how moderation works, feel free to ask an Administrator/Moderator. We’re here to help keep the community safe and supportive.
