User groups determine what features you can access on the forum, such as posting permissions, profile options, and special tools. They also control the badges and banners that appear under your name.
Every member has one primary group and may have additional secondary groups. Secondary groups add extra permissions or badges without replacing your main status.
This is the default group for all members. It provides standard access to posting, replying, reacting, and participating in discussions.
Members in this group are published authors with works released through The EQ Press. They may have additional posting or formatting permissions, and their contributions help shape the core content of the community.
Beta Members help test new features, layouts, and forum changes before they go live. They may see experimental tools or areas not visible to the general community.
These are the earliest supporters of the community. They may receive special recognition or access as a thank‑you for being here from the beginning.
Moderators help keep discussions organized, respectful, and on topic. They can move threads, issue reminders, and assist members with questions or concerns.
Senior Moderators have expanded tools and help oversee moderation activity. They may assist with escalated issues or community‑wide decisions.
Administrators manage the technical side of the forum, user groups, permissions, and site settings. They have full access to all tools and features.
Badges appear under your username and help identify your role in the community. Some badges are automatic based on your group, while others may be awarded manually.
Most members stay in the Registered group unless they are invited or assigned to a special role. Promotions to Author, Beta, Moderator, or other groups are handled by the Administrator.
If you have questions about your user group or badge, feel free to ask an Administrator/Moderator. We’re happy to help clarify your role or permissions.
