Notifications & Watching
🔔 How Notifications Work
Notifications help you keep track of new replies, mentions, reactions, and activity in threads or forums you follow.
You can view them by clicking the bell icon at the top of the page.
👀 Watching Threads
Watching a thread lets you follow new replies or updates. You can choose whether to receive alerts on the site, emails, or both.
How to watch a thread:
- Open the thread you want to follow.
- Click Watch at the top right.
- Select whether you want email notifications or just on‑site alerts.
How to stop watching a thread:
- Click Unwatch at the top of the thread.
- Or go to your Watched threads page and manage them there.
📁 Watching Forums
Watching an entire forum section notifies you when new threads are created in that area.
How to watch a forum:
- Go to the forum section you want to follow.
- Click Watch at the top right.
- Choose whether you want email notifications or just alerts.
📨 Email Notifications
If you choose email notifications, you’ll receive messages when:
- Someone replies to a watched thread
- A new thread is posted in a watched forum
- You are mentioned using @username
- You receive a private message
You can adjust email settings under Account > Preferences.
💬 Alerts You May Receive
- Replies to your posts
- Mentions using @username
- Reactions to your posts
- Quotes of your messages
- New posts in watched threads

⚙️ Managing Your Notification Settings
You can customize what you receive alerts or emails for:

- Select Preferences.
- Adjust your alert and email options.
You can turn off emails entirely if you prefer on‑site alerts only.
